De'Soul Cafe

The food was great, service was amazing, and the music selection was awesome! Will definitely be back again! We had the crab dip and catfish strips for appetizers and the the southern chicken and seafood combo with mac and cheese, collard greens and sweet potatoes for our entrees. I was so stuffed but that didn't stop me from ordering the peach cobbler to go!

The food was great the atmosphere and the ambiance was very pleasant!

Tonight 11/23 was a 1 star night for De'Soul Cafe. We were seated promptly unfortunately we were waiting for our server ~5 mins, still no server. The serving staff's energy was odd and off. While waiting for our server, a server dropped an empty serving tray and left it on the floor while he talked to a table about their food order and why it's taking a long time to come out. We politely got up and walked out. We are dinning at Little Fish this evening.

From the moment you come to this place the personel give you an agreeable feeling. Very friendly crew, it is a nice place to enjoy with friends and colleagues or with your date. delicious cuisine, experienced chef, decent price and attentive service. Highly recommended.

The food is always delicious and the brunch!! You can't go wrong with the brunch!

Decor is gorgeous and pristine, but the food does not live up to it, unfortunately. I'm pretty sure the fries they gave us are the same kind they serve at the college's cafeteria, and the turkey burger I had was pretty sad. They could have served a quarter of the fries and cut the price by a good few dollars; everything was too much or not enough. Can't say it was terrible, but I don't think I'd bother going back.

Food was good-- couldn't complain. Each course came out quickly! The service was excellent. Our server was very nice and checked on us often. Great ambiance and music. Went on a Saturday night and it wasn't too packed. I wouldn't mind going again.

Ms. Nikki the manager was great. Food is good. So glad not to have to eat at a chain restaurant. Nice ambiance.

Food is soulful and tasty! Nice ambience with adult smooth jazz. Justice was friendly providing excellent customer service. The gravy needs some work.

The service was excellent and the food was divine. We had the meatloaf and pork chops. The meatloaf was well-seasoned, moist and delicious! The pork chops were enjoyed at the restaurant and (one) at home; juicy and meltin-your-mouth good. The greens were fresh and wonderful. If you manage to save a little space in your tummy, desserts are terrific as well!

Our waitress Fawna was so friendly!! The food was AMAZING!!!

I ordered the chicken wings, mac&cheese, greens and yams. Fresh cooked collards. The meals was good!

This Cafe was AWESOME! We had a Birthday Celebration and the food was great the service was great we will be coming back for Brunch!!!!!My family really enjoyed it!!!!!Thank you!

The service was very good and the young lady tending to our table was very nice and attentive. I went on Sunday for Brunch. However, the food wasn't good, the fish tasted as if it was cooked in old grease. The shrimp sauce for the grits wasn't tasty, the eggs were yuck. The food just wasn't tasty. I nicely told the owner or manager my complaint about the old tasting fish and instead of taking heed he seemed offended and made up excuses. I definitely won't ever eat there again.

Delicious food. Very slow service. Perhaps due to Valentine's Day, it took over an hour to get our food after ordering. The drinks took about 30 minutes. I would try again since I did enjoy the food, but not on a possibly busy night.

The service and food was great. It was my first time going and myself and my girlfriends had a great time. We got there around 4pm and closed it down at 10PM.

This is the nastiest place ever! Staff is sooo unprofessional and rude. Don’t waste your time going here.

Went here for lunch last week. The food was good, the drink I ordered was good, and the service was great. The shrimp on the appetizer menu were as big as the palm of my hand. The crab cakes on the main course menu were good as well. No complaints at all. I will be returning.

Great food and great service. The fried fish and scallops were perfect, just enough breading and seasoning! I will be back!

1/10/2020 The staff needs training. A loud disagreement broke out between the waiters. No one seemed to take charge. The food was not good. The mix lemonade and Tea tasted like water. The buffalo wings was very salty. Short ribs was served cold with no taste. The waiter realized our entire dinner party did no receive cornbread with the entres and stated that out loud. Please know no one received cornbread. Presentation is key for the food to be placed on a piece of lettuce thumbs down. The greens was not seasoned. Meatloaf is served in small portions. Not a good way to start off 2020. Entire church party couldn't wait to leave.

My daughter's graduation dinner was done here. We made reservations In advance and they kindly accommodated my party of 23. They explained to me up front how the dinner would go from start to finish. We had 5 servers, some were fairly new, And you could tell they were learning the ropes. A few small mistakes were made with food selection but with management and seasoned staff to help, they were quickly corrected. We all had different dishes and I must say everyone was happy with their food selection ,taste and presentation. Will I go there again? Most Definitely!! I would have never thought to have had my daughter's dinner done here if it wasn't for staff member -Wendy, She did such a amazing job with our table at a Sunday brunch that I attended for the 1st time at De Soul and she suggested this will be a great place to have my family's Celebration dinner.Thanks for making our evening one we will never forget!

The service was extremely Slow. I ordered a mimosa. I had to remind the server several times that I ordered a drink. I order a salmon with aside salad. When the server brought my salmon to the table, she said she had to go in the back to make my salad. My salad never came, and the only thing I ate was a salmon. Luckily my friend are from the buffet and brought me some fruit. After the 2nd time of asking for my salad, I gave up. The server never came to ask us how the food was or if we needed drink refills. After waiting for 45 minutes for the check, I located the hostess who just sat down, I asked for the check. After waiting another 15 minutes to pay, I decided to stand by the server until she swiped the card and handed it back to me. The salmon was ok.

Friendly environment. I ordered fried chicken wings, collar greens and potato salad. The potions were heffty. The food was very hot, and seasoned, not too salty.

I give it a 4 star only because the crab cakes were the least tasty thing that I ate from there. I will never get that again but with all my other visits I have been greatly satisfied. The smothered fried chicken and their pork chops are delicious. The collard greens okay. The young man that served us was Super Excellent. We sat at the table in the booth to your left after coming in. I wish I could remember his name. I think it started with a C. Great prices at De'Soul also.

This place is awesome. We had a party here and the people was so nice. Let's talk about the food. The food was great, not to many restaurants in my opinion can do mac and cheese, but this place nailed. The food was awesome.

The service was great and the food was very tasty. A place I will go back to. It was about 15 of us an we all agreed it was fantastic.

Excellent flavored food. Seasoned , and presented well. Crab cakes, catfish, meatloaf, Turkey wings and gravy, candied yams, collard greens, cabbage, mashed potatoes, cornbread, hush puppies, and much more. These are things that we ate. Loved the jazz music and decor. Friendly servers. They even cater.

This was my second time here an my boyfriend first! We didn’t no what was on the menu or what to select. The server Janay at the bar service was excellent. She allowed us to sample items before selecting, she was very patient with us an not in a rush for us to order, she greeted us an treated us how customers should be treated. The food is amazing, the environment is very clean an welcoming and a place to come back to. I would recommend Del Soul Cafe to others. A nice place to visit very mellow and welcoming for a family night, date night, or somewhere just to eat and relax in peace!! & not to forget the cornbread OMG!!! Delicious!!!!

My First Time There with Some Of My Seniors From Kingdom Care Senior Village From My Church Greater Fellowship Full Gospel Baptist Church To Have Lunch/Brunch. It was Recommended By A Couple Of The Seniors and Us Others Went Along To Try Something New!! And It Was A Great Place To Go For An Awesome Meal. You Can't Find A Great Place To Eat That Served Beef Short Ribs and For Them To Be So Good On Top Of Being So Tender!! I Couldn't Eat Them All Along With Collard Greens and Sweet Potatoes and I Had To Take Home Some Of The Buffalo Wings To Try!! And Also The Cornbread Was Melt In Your Mouth Good Too!! I Will Go Back Again Anytime I Get A Ride!! An A+ Rating Given!!

Sorry, the service has gone down from first year opening. Waited about 45 mins to get food and then the cook didn't know what butterfly a steak meant. Steak came burnt asked for well done. Didn't have everything offered on menu, specifically chicken tenders for kids. Greeting host had to turn into waiter. This was supposed to be a birthday celebration and to endorse a BOB (black own business).

Nice atmosphere. Polite staff. The baked chicken wasn’t amazing but it was edible. The asparagus was bland. The seafood platter was good. And the peach cobbler was tasty.

Beautiful place delicious food should have better staff but will return the unprofessionalism is worth the menu not rude just could use a class or two in hospitality

Food is good but every time we place an office order they are out of something or the wait it exceptionally long!!!!! and it makes no sense because the establishment had just opened at 11 am and they had no deserts no collard greens no kale and few other things. But they go across the street to Safeway to get their cornbread you'd think someone would go a purchase the items they were out of as well.

The food was excellent; especially the mac & cheese, cornbread and collards. I order collosal shrimp which was tasty. The food was nice & hot. The atmosphere was really relaxing and our large party was attended to very pleasantly and professionally by two staff members. They definitely work together as a team to make things run smoothly.

Food was Great. My first time here, yet certainly not the last!
